About the project

What had to be solved

• Designing the site to cater to different language proficiency levels, each with its own lessons, layouts, and resources.
• Building custom UX so that learners feel motivated and engaged (visuals, interaction, feedback).
• Ensuring the LMS works smoothly with LearnDash – for lessons, quizzes, and progress tracking.
• Maintaining site speed and responsiveness, particularly for media (audio, video) that language learning often requires.
• Developing a design that supports multilingual content or content heavy in Dutch, with correct fonts, readability, and usability.

How it was built

• Implemented LearnDash for structured lesson, quiz, and course progress tracking.
• Designed custom course layouts and dashboards using Elementor, with attention to ease of navigation between lessons.
• Created custom development pieces (PHP/JS) to handle lesson formats, perhaps multimedia support, quiz functionality, and user-interaction feedback.
• Applied responsive design principles so the site works well on mobile, tablets, and desktop.
• Optimized assets (audio/video, images), used lazy loading and efficient scripting to ensure quick load times.

What it delivered

• Delivered a polished language learning site where users can access Dutch lessons, track progress, and learn in a structured, engaging way.
• Improved user experience and clarity in course navigation, making learning easier and more motivating.
• Performance and responsiveness achieved a level that supports media-rich lessons and dynamic content without lag.
• The custom design gives Echt Nederlands a brand-trust worthy, professional feel, differentiating it in the language learning space.
