What had to be solved

• Owls Maths Tuition is a London-based tutoring service specializing in mathematics for students at GCSE and other levels. The site offers information about tutoring services, course offerings, online sessions, and the ability to book lessons online. The goal was to create a clean, trustworthy, and responsive platform that makes it easy for students/parents to explore options, book sessions, and understand the offerings clearly.
• Presenting course / service information with clarity, especially with multiple tutoring modes (group, one-to-one, online).
• Enhancing UI interactions (form feedback, date pickers, modals) without causing performance lag.
• Managing backend logic for bookings, user data, and content delivery.
• Ensuring site responsiveness so potential clients can access pages and booking forms from mobile, tablet, or desktop.

How it was built

• Built custom Elementor templates and used Elementskit modules to structure service pages, tutor offers, booking pages, etc.
• Integrated jQuery UI (date pickers, sliders) and core-js enhancements for smooth user interaction in booking and forms.
• Wrote PHP + MySQL backend logic to store booking data, manage user requests, and handle content retrieval.
• Optimized UI scripts: deferred non-critical JS, minimized bundles, and ensured compatibility with multiple browsers.
• Designed with mobile-first approach, tested across devices to make sure booking, forms, and content render well.
