Privacy Policy

Last updated: [date you publish]. This page explains what this website collects when you book a call or send me a brief, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.

Who I am

I am Shakib Shown, a WordPress and PHP developer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I run this site myself. For anything about your data, email me at [your email].

What I collect

When you book a call:

  • your name, email address and, if you give them, your company and notes
  • the time zone your browser uses, so I can show times correctly
  • a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, only to stop spam and repeated abuse — I cannot turn it back into your IP

When you send a brief:

  • your name, email address and message
  • your company, budget and timeline, if you choose them

I do not ask for payment details, and nothing is collected just because you visit a page.

Why I use it

Only to reply to you, arrange and hold the call you asked for, send you the confirmation and a reminder, and prepare a quote. This is necessary for the steps you asked me to take before we might work together.

Where it goes

  • This website stores bookings and briefs in its own database, on my hosting provider (Hostinger).
  • Google Calendar and Google Meet: when you book, an event with your name, email and notes is created in my own Google Calendar, with a Meet link for the call.
  • My email provider sends the confirmation, reminder and cancellation emails, and delivers briefs to my inbox.

These providers may store data outside Bangladesh, the UK or the EU. I do not sell your data or share it with anyone else.

How long I keep it

  • Bookings: 365 days after the call.
  • Briefs: 365 days after you send them.
  • Cancelled or failed bookings: your details are removed after 30 days.
  • The event in my Google Calendar stays until I delete it; ask me and I will.

Cookies and storage

This site uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Fonts are served from this site, and nothing from other companies loads when you open a page.

Your browser keeps a few preferences on your own device — your chosen time zone, audio volume and where the music was — so the site remembers them. They are never sent to me. WordPress login cookies are used only by me, on the admin side.

Some journal articles contain a YouTube video. It does not load until you click it; after that, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of the data I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email [your email] and I will reply within 30 days.
